Don't miss the E-Examination Session: We had done it once, we can do it again. | (Overcome the myth of ELECTRONIC EXAMINATION (E-EXAM))

Introduction

The approach of technology to the tertiary institutions in Nigeria has brought solution to deep rooted challenges faced by educational policies and academic measurement. However, every doubt has been cleared because technology has contributed more good to education through its efficiency, cost effectiveness and reliability. Technology remains the lasting solution of examination malpractices and misconduct. Technology is a threshold of academic uniqueness and excellence that overcomes the old style examination system.

Electronic Examination

This is a systematic means of conducting examination through the aid of computer. Electronic Examination(E-Exam) system is generally known or called Computer Based Test(CBT) in which a student shall be assigned a computer system to take his/her examination without the need of a pen or paper.

Myth: The real time communication between students and computer during examination time could be strange as this is not the academic foundation many had. The information from the outside world could be misleading thus creating FEAR into students.

The electronic examination approach allows you to personaly prepare for your academic success. E-exam has eradicated the chance for students who uses corrupt means to get higher grades.

Conclusion

It is predominant that fresh student are tied to the bound of e-exam fever, therefore causing low performance in the first online examination taken.

To be or not to be: "We have done it once, we can do it again.

A special session was held for 2011 fresh student covering The Good, The Bad and The Ugly about E-examination.One of the 2011 fresh student commented "I wonder how I am going to cope with the e-exam, as I have never written anything of such before.Thank you for organizing this session, now am over all the fear of e-exam".

The session was a collaborative effort of old students who sees the need for fresh student to be enlightened in order not to be a victim of ignorance.

The need for the session is a call to duty of the returning students to contribute their quota to the development of the school and hopes the responsibility is passed on to fresh students.

According to the rules guiding the school, students are restricted to some extent.Therefore we want your opinion if you will consider the session a great idea.

This session takes place 3 weeks before examination.

Note: It is only your suggestion and response that will determine if the session will take place.
