Message from the Dean
Welcome to the Faculty of Education (FOE) of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN). The faculty which started as a school is one of the foundation faculties of the National Open University of Nigeria, and is fondly referred to as, the mother of all Faculties. The faculty is blessed with about eighty (80) full time academic staff and hundreds of other part time academic staff who are PhD holders in their various specializations, across the 36 states and the Federal Capital territory. There are five departments in the Faculty. Namely:
- Arts and Social Science Education (ASSE)
- Educational Foundations
- Science Education
- Health and Human Kinetic and
- Library and Information Science
In all we have twenty-four (24) programmes presently, while more are awaiting NUC approval. The curricula are adequate and promote a blend of intellectual skills and practical training which open the door of employability to our graduates. As an ODL institution, our delivery method is second to none. Our students, aside the live class sessions, have access to the recording of every session, discussion and chat fora as well as materials in various formats (Videos, Journals, Magazines etc etc.) on their various pages; in addition to the regular course module. We also operate a 24-hour open door policy. We have a desk officer right in your centre to attend to your complaint and enquiries.
